Our Team

Lee E. Renner, CEO
Lee began in the industry in 1964, taking control of Malott Peterson Renner in 1974 when he purchased it from his father.  In 1979, a Swedish contingency researching builders in the U. S. selected Lee as a consultant for the construction of Bjorn Borg’s private island tennis court. While in Sweden, Lee was contracted to consult on the construction of eighteen new courts at the tennis center in Norkopping, Sweden. Two years later, Lee was again contracted as a consultant on the rehabilitation of the Stockholm Tennis Center.

Lee Renner was instrumental in bringing post-tensioned concrete construction to the tennis industry, recognizing a need for a structurally sound method of construction that would resist damage from poor soils and from a harsh climate.

Tom Josephs, President
Tom began working in the industry in 1982 as a summer job while in school, and never left. He started as general labor help and has worked through the ranks to his current position. Tom has extensive experience in both tennis court and running track construction, from both the field and the office perspective. Tom is involved in all aspects of sales, estimating, and design. He holds the designation of Certified Tennis Court Builder.

Greg McKenna, Vice President
Greg started in the industry in 1984 as a field technician in post-tensioned concrete construction. He quickly developed new innovative processes for this type of construction, shortening construction time from one to two weeks, to a couple of days, without sacrificing quality. Greg also moved through the ranks, proving himself as one of the top Operations Managers, nationwide, in this industry. Greg has extensive experience in both running tracks and tennis courts. Greg’s primary duties are the oversight of the field operations (projects and personnel), with secondary duties in estimating and design.

Scott Starman, General Superintendent
Scott began in the industry in 1998 and joined the Renner Sports Surfaces team in 2003. His previous experience included all types of tennis court surfaces and fencing, but it was quickly apparent that his abilities were underutilized. Scott was promoted to General Superintendent for construction, and has overseen the completion of many large projects since 2004. His current duties are as Operations Manager, overseeing scheduling and coordination of general construction projects. Scott currently holds the designation of Certified Tennis Court Builder.

Donna Sierks, Track Division Manager
Donna is our Chief Estimator for running track construction.  She has been in the tennis court and running track industry since 1986, with a primary focus on running tracks. Her areas of expertise include all phases of running track construction and rehabilitation, with particular emphasis on the different levels of track surfaces available. Donna has remained active in the American Sports Builders Association (formerly the United States Tennis Court and Track Builders Association) as a two-term Track Division President and a two-term Association chairperson. For her diligence and commitment to the industry, Donna has been awarded the prestigious Industry Merit Award from the ASBA. She currently holds the Certified Track Builder designation.

James K. Heaton, Jr., Track Operations Manager
Jim has over thirty years experience in the running track construction industry. He has installed all types of running track surfaces including rubberized asphalt, latex, base mat/structural sprays, and full pours. He has worked on indoor and outdoor tracks in the United States and internationally. Jim’s well-rounded background, which includes estimating, bidding, site inspecting, supervising, and overseeing entire projects, makes him a valuable asset to Renner Sports.

Neal DePooter, Tennis Division Manager
Neal is our Chief Estimator for tennis court construction, and has over thirty years’ experience in tennis court construction, estimating and sales. He began in this industry as a field technician, working into his current position. Neal’s experience encompasses all phases of tennis court construction, to include new construction and resurfacing. His extensive knowledge of common problems found on tennis courts, and their solutions, makes Neal an invaluable asset to the industry.

Colin Donovan, Tennis Sales
Colin started in the tennis court industry in 1984 as a summer job while in college. He began by building and resurfacing clay tennis courts and then moved on to hard court construction and resurfacing. His knowledge and expertise encompass all facets of the tennis court construction industry, as well as acrylic coatings and latex track surfaces. Colin has earned the designation of Certified Tennis Court Builder.
