Reduce Reuse Recycle
Renner Sports has been an environmentally responsible company for years by doing our part to leave as little a carbon footprint on our earth as possible. We use recycled tires, steel, and whenever possible, build over existing surfaces therefore eliminating the addition of old materials to a landfill.
- Recycled tires – over 2,733,800 lbs. of recycled rubber were used in the resilient surfaces for running tracks and tennis courts in 2008 (rubber from over ¼ million tires).
- Recycled enough chain link for 1.6 miles of 10’ high fencing or almost 35 individual tennis courts.
- Post-tensioned concrete tennis courts and running tracks are built on top of existing asphalt or reconstituted base, thus eliminating, on average, the disposal of 150 cubic yards of old material per court and 850 cubic yards per track.
- Steel recycled from reconstruction projects in 2008 totaled 41,080 lbs.
